Sterrenborgstraat 8 Borgerhout
These Dutch Jews from Antwerp, Emilius Vos, Rebecca Narro (28), their children Isaac (5), Andries (4) and Herman (3), live in what is called the Jewish neighborhood. This is the area through which the second big nightly raid of the Endlösung pulls. They are delivered to the Dossinkazerne on August 29, 1942 for transport 7. This train that Mechelen leaves on 1 September 1942 stops in Kosel. Emilius Vos is obliged to get out of the train, and is forced to leave his wife and three children behind. In this transport, of which 85 percent of women are gassed on arrival, a mother with three children are dead. Emilius Vos is the only one who is still alive in 1945. He is part of the fifteen survivors of his transport who, like him, had gotten out in Kosel to do forced labor in the camps of Upper Silesia. He has successively sat in Kleinmangersdorf, Trzebinia, Annaberg and Blechhammer, where he was tattooed on April 1, 1944 with his Auschwitz-Stam number, 178 886. He walks the dead march to the Gross-Rosen camp, and then to Buchenwald, where he at 30 May 1945 are liberated ... without family.
