Milletstraat 36 Amsterdam
Abraham Dreese, born June 23, 1900, was a son of Lucas Dreese and Sientje Bosboom. He married Esther Slap, a daughter of Ephraim Slap and Vrouwtje van de Kar, on March 10, 1931 in Amsterdam. On March 23, 1932, the couple had a son, Lucas, who, like his mother, survived the Holocaust. Abraham Dreese lived with his wife and son at Mozartkade 18 hs. in Amsterdam. However, on June 15, 1943, they had to move to Colensostraat in the Transvaalbuurt in Amsterdam and ended up at house number 7 upstairs. The family decided to go into hiding and ended up in Sneek. Esther and her son Lucas survived the Holocaust. Abraham Dreese was brought into Westerbork for an unknown reason on September 23, 1943 and after registration he was placed in penal barrack 67. Later he was housed in barrack 81. Abraham Dreese was a diamond worker and later a traveler in men's fabrics. But on his Jewish Council registration card he was registered as a “teacher”. Possibly because of this he ended up on the Weinreib III list 6400/4, which meant he was “sperrt bis auf weiteres”. Ultimately, on March 3, 1944, Abraham Dreese was deported as a criminal case to Auschwitz, where he was immediately murdered upon arrival on March 6, 1944, along with 731 other deportees.
