Krugerlaan 68 Gouda
Simon Weijl was a confectioner from Rotterdam. There he married Elisabeth Pierot on 3 June 1914. Together they had 7 children in Rotterdam: Sellie, b. July 6, 1915 Jacques, b. January 18, 1917 Judah, b. Apr 19, 1920 Louis, b. October 5, 1921 Hannah, b. July 13, 1923 Rebecca, b. July 3, 1925 Daniel, b. September 21, 1929 From 1939 the family also had a German Jewish foster child in the house: Moritz Körner. After the bombing of Rotterdam, the family sought safety in Gouda, in the Krugerlaan. There, father Simon continued his pastry business with the help of son Louis. Sons Jacques and Juda married Regina Drukker and Mirjam Frank respectively (and possibly continued to live in the Krugerlaan after this). Of the children, only Sellie and Rebecca survived the war. Their parents, brothers, sister, sisters-in-law and foster brother were all murdered in Auschwitz in 1942 or 1943 (except for Louis, who was murdered in Mauthausen). In front of the house in the Krugerlaan, where they hoped to find safety after the bombing of Rotterdam, there are now 10 Stolpersteine.
