Sietze was born on March 31, 1919 in Doorn as the youngest in a Reformed family. In the fall of 1938, he was hired by the Rijkszeeddienst as a training non-commissioned officer-aviator for a period of six years and an eight-week probation period. He is placed at De Kooij flying camp in Julianadorp near Den Helder, where he obtains his pilot's license at the age of 19. After obtaining the certificate, Sietze takes a dive above his parents' house. The leadership cannot appreciate the stunt; in November 1939 Sytze received an honorable discharge for being unsuitable for service. In the May days of 1940, Sietze was conscripted as a regular conscript to the 3rd Aviation Regiment. Together with the marines, he fights against the Germans at the Maas bridges in Rotterdam. Fiercely anti-German like Sietze, he refuses to surrender his weapons after the capitulation. After working briefly at the Opbouwdienst, he joined the Marechaussee and was placed in Moerdijk. In April 1941 he was transferred to Oosterhout. In the same period, Sietze joins the student resistance group around the Delft professor Jan Mekel. It is a loosely organized group that is very vulnerable to treason, for example because of the domestic meetings and the lack of a code of silence. In the spring of 1941 the group is rolled up. As soon as Sietze is aware of this, he tries to flee from England Gilze-Rijen airport in July 1941. However, he does not get his device started and is then arrested on the spot by the Gestapo and taken to the prison of Scheveningen, the so-called "Orange Hotel". Together with 85 members of the OD, the Mekel group, the Schoemaker group and 13 professional soldiers, Sytze is convicted in the Trial of 72 which is conducted by the Sicherheitsdienst in the De Witte op Amersfoortse Berg hotel from late March to 3 April 1942. SD). The trial is typified by rants of abuse at the judges, very little legal support for the accused and ends with the death penalty for 72 of the convicts. Sietze will also receive the most severe punishment afterwards. He was probably in Amersfoort camp for the duration of the trial. Afterwards, Sietze is transferred with the 72 to the Wehrmacht prison on Wolvenplein in Utrecht. There, 9 sentences are converted into life sentences; of the remaining 63, including Sietze's, the death penalty is ratified. He is then transported by train with the convicts to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, where he is executed on 3 May 1942 immediately upon arrival. Sietze was 23 years old.
