Gasthuisstraat 37

Unmarried, was born in St Truiden, the 16th November 1919, he stayed at his Gasthuisstraat, 37.

Soldier for his conscription he made the mobilization and campaign partly in May 1940. Driven by his sense of duty and patriotism, he came to the Resistance. Serious, active boy as he was, he enjoyed everyone's friendship but also fell victim to the betrayal of May 1943.

With his fellow sufferers he went the long agony along Breendonk, Esterwegen, Gross-Strehlitz and Gross-Rosen and there the track is lost. The last message that reached us reads: ,, Lambillotte Herman was in Gross-Rosen. Matr. No. 82215, add to the list of returned Pol. of the Gross-Rosen-Dora convoy ”, it already is.

What happened on this last journey.

Nobody knows. Herman remains missing.

Herman died on May 7, 1945 in Nordhausen.
