Rijnstraat 201 Amsterdam
The story of various Jewish families who lived in the Netherlands during the Second World War. Maurits Judge, born as Chaim Mozes judge in Poland, was with his family to Westerbork in 1943 and then deported to Sobibor, where they were murdered on July 7, 1943. Maurits had previously lived in Amsterdam and worked in various positions, including as an accountant and cashier. Another victim concerns Louis Levy, who was registered in Westerbork in 1942 and was deported to Auschwitz shortly thereafter, where he was murdered. His wife and daughter later followed the same fate. Hermann and Rosa Levie-Rosenfeldt, who came to the Netherlands in 1933 and 1938, were registered in Westerbork in March 1943. They were later sent to Theresienstadt, but were eventually separated and deported to Auschwitz, where they died. The stories are steeped in sorrow and loss, with memories of the families who lost their lives and their loved ones in the Holocaust. The paintings and souvenirs that were left behind, such as the painting of the poppies, symbolize the memories of the lost generations.
