Salomon van der Ham is a religious teacher and sexton of the synagogue in Eindhoven.
He married Henrietta Hijmans on August 2, 1899, born in The Hague on March 8, 1863. She is a teacher. At least the couple has a son: Joseph van der Ham, born on June 2, 1902. The Van der Ham family is strictly Jewish Orthodox.

Salomon died in 1916. During the war Henrietta lived with her son Joseph and his family.
Henrietta van der Ham-Hijmans arrives in Westerbork on June 7, 1943. She was deported to Sobibor on June 29, 1943. Henrietta van der Ham-Hijmans was murdered here on July 2, 1943. She is eighty years old. Her son Joseph and his family also do not survive the war.

Joseph van der Ham was born on June 2, 1902 in Eindhoven. He is boekhouder by profession. His father and mother are Salomon and Henrietta van der Ham.
On 15 May 1931, Joseph married in 's-Hertogenbosch to Jennie Koppens who was born on 15 February 1901 in Sint Oedenrode.

In 1931 the couple lives at Sint Martinusstraat 2 in Eindhoven. Their son Salomon was born here on September 3, 1932. He attends the Nutsschool in the Akkerstraat and is a good student of the Jewish Sunday school of the synagogue.
Joseph's mother, Henriette, lives with the family.
During the war, the family of the German authorities had to leave their home in Akkerstraat and live with the de Jongh family in Hoefkestraat 56.

Joseph, Jennie and Salomon get a chance to go into hiding; an organization would help them flee to Switzerland. They are betrayed and arrested when they want to cross the border. On November 7, 1942, Joseph, Jennie and their son Salomon arrive in Westerbork. On November 10, 1942, the family was deported to Auschwitz. Mother Jennie and son Salomon are murdered there on arrival on November 13, 1942.
Father Joseph turns seventeen months later. murdered on March 31, 1944, during transport in Central Europe.
Joseph's mother also did not survive the war.
