Kerkstraat 105 Midden-Groningen
Jacob Schrijver was the son of Michiel Schrijver and Efina Stoppelman. He had a sister, Jetta Rebekah, and a brother, Lazarus. Jacob was born on October 21, 1914 in Muntendam. He is the son of Michiel Schrijver and Efina Stoppelman. His parents have two more children: Jetta Rebekka and Lazarus. Jacob finds it hard to find work, but he uses his time useful as secretary on the board of the Muntendam football club, the club where he is also a player. In 1937 he became champion with the third team. From 1932 to 1942, Jacob faithfully performed his duties as secretary. He even becomes a representative of the Federal Assembly of the KNVB. But in 1942 he has to resign because of the anti-Jewish regulations that have been in force since the beginning of that year. Jews of the occupier are no longer allowed to exercise public functions. In September Jacob is taken from the home by the occupying forces and taken to Camp Westerbork. Not long after, on September 27, 1942, Jacob was transported to Auschwitz extermination camp. Immediately upon arrival, Jacob is murdered in the gas chambers. He is then 27 years old. Efina's father, Lazarus, is known in the East Groningen area for the Stoppelman Orchestra. With his 7 sons, he regularly performs at parties and weddings in the region. "Fientje", as Efina is also called, is also regularly involved. Fientje marries Michael Schrijver from Muntendam. Together they have three children: Jacob, Jetta Rebekka and Lazarus jr. After the death of her husband, Fientje continues to live on Kerkstraat with her son Jacob. In September 1942 Jacob is taken from home. Not long after that fate also affects his mother Efina. Via Westerbork she ends up in extermination camp Sobibor, where she is gassed on May 21, 1943.
