Molenstraat 80 Oss
Siegfried Kahn was born on August 15, 1892 in Burg Preppach (Germany). He marries Mathilda Hirnheimer. She was born on October 24, 1893 in Bamberg, located about 40 kilometers from Burg Preppach. Their two children were also born in Bamberg: Nathan Gabriel on August 9, 1927 and Suse on March 19, 1929. In the 1930s the Kahn family left for the Netherlands. They live in Oss at Molenstraat 80. Siegfried works as a butcher. Siegfried's sister Nanni Kahn also lives in the house, born March 22, 1884 in Burg Preppach. In October 1941 Suse Kahn is a student of the Jewish Lyceum in Den Bosch. Siegfried left the second group of Jews arrested in Oss on 2 October 1942. Between 3 and 5 October 1942 he was enrolled in Westerbork transit camp. His relatives only follow him a few months later when on 9 April 1943 the last Jews from Oss are brought to Westerbork via camp Vught. Nanni soon returns to transport. On May 25, 1943 she leaves for Sobibór where she is killed immediately upon arrival. Siegfried, Mathilda and Suse belong to a relatively small group of people (195 people) who leave Westerbork on April 20, 1943. This train does not go to the East as usual, but goes to Amsterdam. The people on the train are all German families, the father of which has been distinguished for merits in the First World War. The next day, on April 21, this transport is supplemented with 100 people from the Hollandse Schouwburg and the journey continues to Theresienstadt. Nathan stays longer in Westerbork and goes to Theresienstadt on January 18, 1944. Eventually, all family members also leave Theresienstadt with the evacuations of the camp in the autumn of 1944 to Auschwitz. Mathilda and Suse are murdered in Auschwitz on October 6, 1944 and Siegfried on September 30, 1944. Nathan is the last of the family to be murdered. He died in Auschwitz on November 9, 1944. http://struikelsteenoss.blogspot.com/p/mgr-vd-boerpark.html
