Levie Querido was a son of Abraham Querido and Sara Lever. He was married to his cousin Roosje Lever on February 17, 1904 in Utrecht. The couple had three children: Sara and two children who survived the war. Sara Querido was the daughter of Levie Querido and Roosje Lever. She married in Utrecht on November 27, 1929 to Levie Israel Hilversum, son of Nathan Hilversum and Jantje van der Horst. The couple had 3 children Nathan Levie, Levie Abrham who both died as a young child and Rosa Jenny. These are the names of the parents and the oldest sister of the former Utrecht GP Bram Querido (1911-1999), who became known as a sports doctor at FC Utrecht. His parents are Levie Querido (1882-1943, Sobibor) and Roosje Querido-Lever (1881-1943, Auschwitz). Bram's oldest sister was Sara Hilversum-Querido (1905-1943, Sobibor). His other sister Judith (1906-1994) survived the war, just like Bram. Previous placement On Sunday 6 October last. the three stones were placed in the road near the Nieuwe Daalstraat. Corrie Huiding, who has been telling about the war history of the Querido family in her home on Bergstraat 6 for years during the Open Jewish Homes route, saw that this location was not correct. The house in which part of the family lived - and which has since been demolished - was a long way away. She contacted the relatives of the murdered family members and together they came up with the idea to place the stumbling stones on the place where the whole family still lived together: at Bergstraat 6. Their plan was immediately approved by the municipality of Utrecht and the working group that coordinates the placement of the 'Stumbling Stones' in our city. The stones on the Nieuwe Daalstraat have now been removed. After the placement on October 30, Utrecht has 62 again. Family Sara's daughter, Roos Jongejan-Hilversum, who was born in 1936, is delighted with Corrie Huiding's initiative. The 83-year-old woman, who still has vivid memories of her mother and grandparents, will reveal the stones. Other members of the Querido's family are also present.
