The Rosendahl family lived at Capittenweg 36 in Blaricum. Fritz Rosendahl, born in Elberfeld in 1897, was a cattle trader and later sold eggs, butter and chicken by bicycle in Blaricum, Bussum and Naarden. He was married to Anna Ruthenburg, and they had two daughters, Hannelore and Marianne. Fleeing antisemitism in Germany, the family settled in Blaricum in December 1937. Fritz’s parents and other German refugees also stayed with them for a time. In July 1942 the family was forced to move to Amsterdam. On 3 September 1942 they were sent to Westerbork and then deported. Anna, Hannelore and Marianne were murdered in Auschwitz on 7 September 1942. Fritz was murdered in Central Europe on 31 March 1944.
