At Floraplein 14 in Haarlem, Doriena Frederika Muntendam-van Coevorden is commemorated with a Stolperstein. She was born on 6 September 1869 in Hollandscheveld, the daughter of a Dutch doctor and niece of pioneer Aletta Jacobs. Doriena became a dentist, married ophthalmologist Pieter Muntendam, and together they practised in Amsterdam. After her husband’s death, she lived in The Hague and later moved to Haarlem in late 1942, residing at a retirement home on Floraplein. Despite being secular, authorities identified her Jewish heritage: on 25 May 1943 she was arrested by the Haarlem police and taken first to Westerbork transit camp. On 8 June 1943 she was deported to Sobibor, where she was murdered on 11 June 1943 at age 73.
