Family Levisson. Elias Levisson (born in 1885) married Celina de Boers in 1915 and they moved to Dordrecht. He is a factory worker in the Jurgens Oil Factory in Zwijndrecht. Four sons were born from this marriage: Samuel (1916), Mourits (1918), Herman (1919) and Johannes (1921). In early 1922, however, the marriage was dissolved. Mother Celia and her youngest son Johannes then move to Amsterdam. Elias remarried in the same year 1922, but that marriage lasted only a short time. In 1925 Elias remarries for the third time. Now with Maria Woudhuijzen (born in 1885.) With this marriage, the three sons of Elias can return to Zwijndrecht. In August 1942 these Samuel, Mourits and Herman were arrested at home at Rotterdamseweg 22. On August 17, 1942 they were deported via Kamp Westerbork to the Auschwitz concentration camp, where all three were killed. Their date of death is September 30, 1942. Elias Levisson and his third wife Maria Woudhuijzen recently went into hiding in Waddinxveen, but were arrested there on September 3, 1942. Their hiding address was probably betrayed. More than a week later they are brought from Rotterdam to Westerbork. They were deported on September 14, 1942. On arrival in Auschwitz on September 17, 1942, Maria was killed immediately. Elias is still employed as a forced laborer and dies a few months later. His date of death is set at December 31, 1942.
