Marcus Meijer Krant, widower of Anna Buitenkant, remarried Betje Bartels in 1936. With his sons Meijer and Louis, the family was forced to Amsterdam in 1942. On 20 June 1943 they were caught in a major Amsterdam raid and taken to Westerbork. On 6 July 1943 Marcus, Betje, Meijer and Louis were deported to Sobibor. They were murdered there on 9 July 1943.
Georg Schlein, a Jewish refugee from Neustadt, came from Berlin to the Netherlands in 1939 and later moved in with the Krant family in Hilversum. In 1942 he was registered in Asterdorp, Amsterdam, where stateless Jewish refugees were housed. He was deported to Auschwitz on 10 August 1942. His camp number indicates he was not murdered immediately after arrival. His death was recorded as 30 September 1942.
