Kruisstraat 3

Brother and sister Hertog, Joël and Frederika Jessen are unmarried and live together on the Kruisstraat. They are the children of Jacob Jessen and Josephina Schaap, who died before the war.
They also live with an aunt, the widow Veronica Francois-Jessen. Veronica dies in 1941.
Hartog Jessen, born November 8, 1896, was a merchant in manufactures. According to another source, he was a groundworker. His brother Joel, born October 21, 1898, is a street vendor. Their sister Frederika Jessen was born on September 30, 1901.
An Eindhoven citizen remembers: 'Behind this lived Jewje Jessen, an egg farmer. In 1942 my face was full of warts and Jewje had bought them from me for a cent. The next day I didn't have a single wart! A few days later, Jew was arrested by the Germans. I have never seen him again '.

Frederika Jessen arrives in Westerbork on August 29, 1942. She was deported from Westerbork to Auschwitz on August 31, 1942. There Frederika is killed immediately on arrival, on September 3, 1942.
Joël and Hertog] essen arrive in Westerbork on 4 October 1942. They were deported from Westerbork to Auschwitz on 12 October 1942.
Duke was murdered there a month and a half later, on December 5, 1942.
Joel is murdered in Germany on May 2, 1945, a year and a half after the deportation.
Hertog, Joël and Frederika Jessen have another sister, Henriëtte (born June 9, 1895). Henriëtte has lived in Amsterdam since 1918. She was murdered in Sobibor in 1943.
