At Van Weelstraat 29a in Rotterdam, two Stolpersteine commemorate Simon Zilverberg and his wife Jetje Zilverberg-van Boele. Simon was born in Coevorden on 3 May 1880; Jetje was born in Kampen on 14 September 1886. They lived at this address before being deported during the Holocaust. Both were murdered in Auschwitz on 15 October 1942. Their stones, placed in 2015, return their names to the street where they once lived and invite passers-by to pause and remember them as individuals, neighbours and members of Rotterdam’s Jewish community.
