Nathan Haagman, born on February 2, 1887, in Rotterdam, was a traveling salesman. He married Eva de Wit, born on May 8, 1890, in Veghel, Brabant, on August 18, 1921. The couple had two children, David and Rosette. In June 1924, Nathan and Eva, along with her parents, moved from Rotterdam to Antwerp, where Rosette was already born in April. They lived at Bouwhandelstraat 18 in Borgerhout. David, who was living in the 'Gesticht voor Geestesabnormalen' in Bachte-Maria-Leerne, moved to the Sint-Julianusgesticht in Ghent in 1933. On August 10, 1942, Eva, Nathan, and Rosette were transported to Kazerne Dossin in Mechelen and then to Auschwitz, where they were murdered on August 29, 1942. David, who was formally discharged from the institution on August 29, 1942, likely joined his family at Dossin and died with them in Auschwitz, though no official death certificate exists for him.
