Jane de Groot was the daughter of Emanuel de Groot and Judith Meijers. She married Meijer Cutzien on 14 October 1896 in Almelo Stad, son of Aron Mozes Cutzien and Johanna Themans. Her husband, also known as Meijer Krukziener, had died in Amsterdam in 1939. She moved to Zutphen in September 1910, where she lived at 22 Rembrandtstraat. Her husband, together with his brother Salomon and his half-brother Mozes, had a cap factory, first in Oldenzaal and later in Zutphen. Together they made the cap factory in the Beekstraat one of the largest in the Netherlands. Meijer died in 1939 in the Israelite Hospital in Amsterdam. During the war, Jane decided to leave for her sister Etje Jacobs-de Groot at 7 Spalstraat in Hengelo, Gelderland, because it seemed safer to her there. When they had to report to camp Vught before April 10, 1943, her sister's family decided to go into hiding. It was impossible to take Jane and her sister Etje to the underground cellar at 't Kervel. Jane and Etje then reported to camp Vught on April 9, 1943. Jane arrived in camp Westerbork on 9 May. She was transported to Sobibor concentration camp on 11 May, where she was killed shortly after arrival. Holocaust victim, as well as her daughter Henriette, as well as her brother Salomon and her sister Etje with partly their families. Her son Aron and his wife survived the war, their two children died. Her son Emanuel and his family also survived the war. Her sister Martha had already died before the war. Her husband's brother Hartog died.
