The Brandon family moved to Oostersekade 5-II in June 1941: father Louis, a merchant, mother Judith Brandon-Kater, daughter Sientje, a seamstress, son Mozes, a machine fitter, with his wife Johanna Brandon-Brandon, and Hans, who was born in 1941. Elize Brandon, a sister of Johanna, also lived at this address. Johanna worked at the Hollandia-Kattenburg textile factory and was arrested there in the raid of 11 November 1942. Mozes then reported himself, to be with his wife. On 30 November 1942 they were deported together from Westerbork to Auschwitz.
