Judik Speijer married Benjamin Pais on September 18, 1890 in Harlingen. They had three daughters, Sara, Johanna and Jetje. Johanna died in Harlingen in 1892, four months after her birth. From 1914 Judik and her family left for Terschelling and lived under the Brandaris. There they had a shop selling hardware and manufactures. In addition, hats were also sold that daughter Sara made. After Benjamin's death in 1929, Judik continued the shop together with Sara. On August 25 she was evacuated to Amsterdam by order of the occupying forces.
Benjamin Jacob Krönstein lived with his mother Sara and his grandmother Judik under the Brandaris on Terschelling. His mother was married in London in 1921 to Abraham Krönstein, a Russian merchant. She already returned to Terschelling before Benjamin Jacob was born. The marriage was dissolved in 1935. On Terschelling the name Krönstein was therefore unknown and Benjamin Jacob was known by everyone as Bennie Pais. Bennie went to primary school on West Terschelling and attended the MULO in Midsland (Terschelling). By order of the occupying forces he had to go to Amsterdam on August 25, 1942, together with his mother and grandmother.
Sara married Benjamin Krönstein, a Russian merchant, in London on April 3, 1921. She returned to the parental home before the birth of her son Benjamin Jacob. The marriage was dissolved in 1935. Together with her mother she ran a shop for hardware and manufactures, located under the Brandaris on Terschelling. By order of the occupier she had to go to Amsterdam on August 25, 1942.
