From October 13, 1932, Izaäk has a butcher's shop at Westersingel 14 (now No. 20) in Groningen, Gudema’s Goedkoope Vleeschwinkel “West End”.

Four years after the opening of his shop, on June 10, 1936, Izaäk married Bertha van den Berg in The Hague. On July 6, 1937, their daughter Rosetta Sophia is born.
Just before the outbreak of the war, in April 1940, Isaac expanded his business to trade in canned vegetables and dairy products. That will not take long. He's losing his business.

Izaäk and his family are deported to Westerbork in early October 1942 and deported to Auschwitz on 9 October. Bertha and Rosetta are murdered there on October 12. Izaäk dies on January 31, 1943. He is then 39 years old. Only his brother Daniel survives the war.

Rosetta Sophia was born in Groningen, the only child of the butcher Izaäk Gudema and Bertha van den Berg.
