De Lind 2 Oisterwijk
Sara Haas was born on April 13, 1882 in Strijen as the daughter of cattle dealer Jacob Haas (1830-1916) and Rachel Zwarenstein (1837-1922). Sara, the second youngest child, has 11 brothers and sisters. She married Alexander van Oss on January 13, 1910 in Strijen and then moved to Oisterwijk, her husband's residence. On December 31, 1941 Sara leaves for Amsterdam. There she lives with her sister Eva at Scheldestraat 135/II in the Rivierenbuurt. After having lived in Amsterdam for more than a year, Sara was arrested and at the beginning of March 1943, together with her sister Eva, was transferred to Westerbork, where they both arrived on March 4, 1943 and were immediately accommodated in barrack 67, the penal barracks. In this barracks are imprisoned those who have violated the anti-Jewish measures. It is not clear why they will be placed in barrack 67. Most criminal cases are people in hiding or people who have not followed the obligation to wear the Star of David. On March 10, 1943, so within a week, they are transferred from Westerbork to Sobibor, where they are killed on March 13, 1943. Of the eleven brothers and sisters, seven had already died before the outbreak of the Second World War. In addition to Sara, three of her sisters are killed in the death camps. Only one sister survives the war.
