Karel De Meyer (1897–1943) was a Flemish patriot and tobacco merchant from Deinze, Belgium. Born into a well-off family, he ran the family tobacco business and lived an active civic life, co-founding SK Deinze football club. In 1938, he married Clara Schaubroeck. Outraged by Nazi militarism, he joined the resistance group V-Liga in 1941, together with his wife, who helped distribute underground papers. Arrested by the Germans in June 1942, he was deported as a Nacht-und-Nebel prisoner to Sonnenburg concentration camp in Poland, where he died on November 23, 1943. He was later recognized as an isolated armed resister.
