K.P.C. de Bazelstraat 45
Bussum
On September 10, 1942, the Jewish family WORMS was forced to move to Amsterdam, where they went to live with family in Pretoriusstraat 79 II. Abraham Worms worked in his family's shoemaker, while his wife Frederike was active as a teacher of crafts and had a position at the Jewish Council, which temporarily exempt her from deportation.
Their house in the K.P.C. The Bazelstraat was quickly sold through a collaborating real estate agency, and the shoemaker was liquidated by the German authorities. On March 5, 1943, Abraham, Sara, and Free were deported to Camp Vught, after which the parents went to Westerbork on 23 May and almost immediately afterwards to Sobibor, where they were murdered on 28 May 1943.
Frederika was left in Vught and was deported to Auschwitz on November 15, 1943, where she was probably subjected to forced labor. Many women from her transport died in the first weeks in Auschwitz of diseases. Frederika's death is listed in archives on January 3, 1944, but the precise circumstances are unknown. Of the 1149 deportees in this transport, only 32 men and 6 women survived.
Abraham Worms was 55 years old, Sara Worms-Deen 51 years, and Free Worms was no older than 22 years.
