She is married to David de Lange and the couple had three children together; Willem, born in 1900, Ruben, born in 1904, and Rebecca, born in 1906. Roosje de Lange's husband, David, died before the war. Roosje de Lange lived with her children at Almeloscheweg 613. In some documents the Almeloscheweg is called Nieuwstraat. In February 1941, Roosje de Lange, like the other Jewish Raaltenaren, had to register with the municipality. Her name can be found on the payment list for the registration certificates. In a letter to The Hague of January 7, 1942, permission is requested for a move from Roosje de Lange to the address at Wijk A number 169. She will live with family because she is living as a result of a measure that concerns Jewish residents (from the letter does not clarify which measure can no longer pay the rent. According to the Dutch Red Cross, her last address was Nieuwstraat 613. It is not known when Roosje de Lange ended up in camp Westerbork. She was deported from Camp Westerbork to Sobibór on 11 May 1943 and was killed there immediately after arrival on 14 May 1943. She was 79 years old at the time. ** Rebecca de Lange **, daughter of David and Roosje de Lange and sister of Willem (1900) and Ruben (1904), was born on December 17, 1906. The family lived at 613 Almeloscheweg / Nieuwstraat. Father David de Lange died before the war. On March 12, 1900 ** Willem de Lange ** was born in Raalte. He was the son of Roosje and David de Lange. Willem had a younger brother, Ruben, born in 1904, and a younger sister Rebecca, born in 1906. The family lived at 613 Almeloscheweg in Raalte. Father David de Lange died before the war. Willem de Lange was a cattle trader by profession. A document from the municipality of Raalte dated 24 June 1942 shows that Willem de Lange returned his bicycle on that day as a result of the anti-Jewish measures. Brand and number are unknown according to the document. Like almost all Jewish residents of Raalte, Willem also ends up in camp Westerbork. He was deported on November 12, 1942. A letter from the chief of the population department of camp Westerbork to the mayor of Raalte shows that on December 18, 1942 Willem did indeed no longer stay in the camp, but was employed abroad. Willem de Lange was murdered in Auschwitz on February 28, 1943. ** Ruben de Lange ** was born on May 5, 1904. His parents were David and Roosje de Lange. Ruben had a brother Willem, born in 1900 and a sister Rebecca, born in 1906. The family lived at 613 Almeloscheweg in Raalte. Father David de Lange died before the war. Ruben was a hawker in manufactures by trade. Ruben de Lange was arrested early in the war and probably ended up in Mauthausen via Amersfoort camp. A letter to his family dated July 11, 1942 states that he died on July 7, 1942 of a heart attack. Often in this type of letters fictional causes of death were mentioned. In Mauthausen most prisoners died because of the inhumanly hard work they had to do. According to the letter, his body was cremated on July 10, 1942 in the state crematory in Austria. Ruben was 38 years old. The rest of the family died in Auschwitz and Sobibór.
