The Eisenhardt family lived at Dwarslaan 2 in Blaricum. Willy Eisenhardt, born in Berlin in 1885, was a physician. After his first wife died, he married Amy Lawinia Imberg in 1924. Their daughter Sigrid was born in Königsberg in 1926. In 1937 the family fled Nazi Germany and settled in the Netherlands, first in The Hague, later in Laren and Blaricum. In 1942 they were forced to move to Amsterdam, where Willy’s son Karl Wilhelm joined them. Willy, Amy and Sigrid were taken to Westerbork on 20 May 1943 and deported to Auschwitz on 24 August. They were murdered there on 27 August 1943. Karl Wilhelm survived forced labour in Vught and Westerbork, went into hiding, and rebuilt his life after the war.
