Isaäc Worms, born in Amsterdam in 1887, was a cigar maker. On 15 February 1911 he married Sara Levie, born in Amersfoort in 1885. In 1916 they came to Haarlem, where Isaäc had a cigar workshop at Koningstraat 6 and from 1921 at Oudeweg 57a. They had three children: Grietje in 1911, Leendert (Leo) in 1918 and Celine, who died early in 1921 when she was two weeks old. In 1939 Isaäc and Sara moved to Cremerplein 29. When Jews were no longer allowed to do their work, the Jewish Council gave Isaäc a position at the charity Gemieloeth Chasadiem.
Just before Christmas 1942 they had to leave their home and move in with a family at Lorentzplein 37. Isaäc and Sara arrived in Westerbork on 14 May 1943 and were deported to Sobibor on 18 May. They were murdered there on 21 May 1943. Isaäc was 55 and Sara 57. Their daughter Grietje was murdered in Auschwitz with her husband and stepson. Their son Leo survived the war.
