Edmundus Aspeslagh, also recorded as Edmundus Aspelsagh, was born on 10 May 1910. During the Second World War, he became a victim of Nazi persecution and was imprisoned in a concentration camp in Germany. The available Oostende records do not give the exact date or circumstances of his arrest and deportation, nor the precise date of his death. They state that he died in captivity in Germany as a result of the conditions in the concentration camp. A Stolperstein has been requested by his family to honour him as a victim of the Nazi concentration camp system and to preserve his memory both within the family and in the public space of Ostend.
