Aron Schwarzkächel was born in Budapest on September 20, 1883. He works as a house painter and is married to Hesse Ornstein. The couple have two daughters and two sons: Ethelke, Rosa, Leo and Sandor. All born in Budapest. Hardly beyond the rigors of World War I - Aron was a prisoner of war in Siberia - the young family fled Budapest around 1919 when, due to the pogroms, the atmosphere there became too grim for the Jewish population. The Schwarzkächel family ends up in the Ruhr region. At the end of the 1920s, Aron Schwarzkächel may once again prove his instinct for survival and resilience if the climate in Germany becomes increasingly threatening for the Jews. For the second time, the family leaves everything that is known behind. Another new language, yet a new living environment. And this time the final destination is Eindhoven. Not long after arriving in Eindhoven on November 7, 1930, his wife Hesse died of a stomach bleeding. In Eindhoven, Aron tries to pick up the thread of his life again. He finds work at Philips where he polishes radio cabinets. His four children all start their own families and leave Eindhoven. Aron regularly travels to The Hague to visit his children and grandchildren. When the war comes, Aron is too proud to flee again. Just before he is picked up and transported to Westerbork, he gives his daughter Rosa his wedding ring and watch. In Westerbork, Aron has a meeting with Sandor, his youngest son, who works in the camp as a hairdresser. On September 21, 1942, Aron was deported to Auschwitz. Immediately after arrival. on September 24, 1942, Aron Schwarzkächel is murdered. Aron's four children survived the war.
